access: How to disable Quick Access option from Windows 10 File ExplorerWindows 10 hide quick access registry free -
As many of you are aware, Quick Access is a new feature inside of Windows File Explorer that is set as the default file explorer view. This added clutter to the look and feel of windows as well as makes it more time consuming to get to mapped drives listed on the left panel of File Explorer windows.
Set the name to HubMode and change its value to 1. Before closing out of the registry editor, open a new File Explorer to see if Quick Access is still accessible, if it is still there, check the spelling and location of the registry entry and adjust as necessary.
If all has worked correctly, the registry entry should disable the Quick Access drop down from the left pane of all file explorer windows and tidy up your windows look and feel. Hopefully, someone can take this forward and design a PowerShell script or GPO tutorial for easier deployment. I also find the quick access annoying and unnecessary. We have our users go here for mapped drives, and This PC file explorer for quick access to recent files.
I thought about doing that, but changing how users remember how to access the drives, having more than one option available, and rolling this out company wide without a user just deleting the My Computer shortcut was my concern. Worked like a charm. Way better than the "Attribute" hack that breaks things! Thanks for the post and helping in decluttering! Home Windows Windows 10 How-tos. Windows 10 Windows Decrapifier group.
